Sick Child Visits

When your child isn't feeling well, waiting days for an appointment isn't an option. Pediatrix offers same-day sick visits any time the office is open, including weekends, so symptoms get looked at while they're still fresh. A sick visit typically includes a review of symptoms and history, a physical exam, and blood or urine testing when it's needed, covering everything from flu, strep throat, and ear infections to rashes, allergic reactions, and stomach bugs. Call as early in the day as possible, and the office will talk through your child's symptoms and get them seen quickly.

Asthma Care

Pediatrix runs a full asthma and allergy management program, and most diagnoses happen naturally — during a sick visit when a child is wheezing or showing allergy symptoms, or occasionally at a well visit based on a parent's concerns or exam findings. From there, care shifts to education: reviewing environmental triggers to avoid, watching your child use their inhaler to make sure the technique is right, and going over how to care for the medication devices at every visit. Every child leaves with a written Asthma Action Plan for school, and a Food Allergy Action Plan too if it's needed.

Teens

Teen visits at Pediatrix go beyond sports physicals and vaccines. Providers talk directly with teenage patients about the things that actually come up at this age — puberty, mental health, sleep, nutrition, driving safety, relationships, and substance use — in a way that respects a teen's growing independence while keeping parents informed on the bigger picture.
